Avon Haul

Sorry for not really posting anything lately, I've been pretty down about my hair and stuff, but today I received these from Avon that cheered me up a little bit.
My auntie does Avon these days, and the catalogue was hanging around the house the other week, so I ordered some stuff.
I've always been a bit snobby about Avon, but I thought I'd give it a go, because I don't have much money these days.

Anyway I ordered two room and linen sprays, because I just love things smelling nice :)
I have the Black Cherry and Nutmeg spray, which I think is a very nice warm smell. I also have the Strawberry and Guava which is very sweet.

I also have the Intense protection hand cream with silicon and beeswax, which is very moisturising and sinks in really nicely. I always need hand cream through winter as my hands dry.

The next thing I have is the Vanilla and Brown Sugar Foot cream, I love anything vanilla and I can't wait to pop this foot cream on my feet :)

The things I'm really excited about are the Nail Polishes. I bought a nice Chocolate brown one called Deluxe Chocolate, and I can see it has some gold shimmer in it. The Blue one is called Blue Flare, and I'd describe it as a denim blue (I'm putting some on later, so I'll post a pic in an hour). The last one is a smooth dark purple called Midnight Plum. I will post pics of these as soon as I've put them on :)

I also decided to try an Avon eye cream because I'm getting older :( and I have started to see some fine lines, and this cream was cheap hehe. I used some earlier, and the consistency is quite thick, but I think I might like this stuff, we'll see.

I have a tiny bit of a primer obsession these days, so when I saw this primer in the Avon catalogue for £5, I had to have it. It is called Avon Magix Face Perfector, it has a 20spf (which is great), it claims to illuminate the complexion (which I need), and it targets pores and banishes shine. It's a light gel-powder that gives a flawless, matte finish for up to 10hrs (that's the part that sold me). In the catalogue it was compared to Clarins Instant smooth perfecting touch, so I just had to try this. I'm going to wear it tomorrow, and I'll post some pictures :)

The hair loss thing isn't going to well, I've lost so much hair the last few days, hence the reason for no post and me being quiet.
My head now looked like this the other day, and its getting worse.
I'm hopefully going to buy some more clip in extensions soon, I'm thinking I'll buy these ones. I want a nice fringe/bangs, so I might just order some of the bangs from This site, and maybe have a few different styles, to cheer myself up a bit.
I've been so sad about my hair coming out the last few days that I haven't been out of the house, couldn't go to college, and when I saw two attractive women outside my house the other day with nice hair, I cried (I know its silly, but I do find this really, really hard).
I want to come back here in a few months, and show off some new healthy thick hair, that's my goal.
So anyway, I'm off to have a nice bath now, and then I'm going to paint my nails with Blue Flare, and post a piccie :) x

Today and Yesterday Haul, Plus my hairloss.

So this is a depressing post for me, but I want to write it just in case someone else out there has started suffering from this, also I'd like to read back on my thoughts and feelings one day.
So in a way, it's a selfish post.

On Thursday night I lost a holy hell of a lot of hair, a huge bunch came out when I was washing it. I spent the whole night crying, and mum was shocked at the amount too.
I was meant to start back at college on Friday, but didn't go in because I was very broken up about my hair, and had spent the whole night in a state.

It is a really hard thing to go through, especially when you love your hair and are quite vain about your looks ( I don't look in the mirror every minute, but I like to make an effort).
So on Friday me and mum went to Boots and I bought some Alpecin shampoo and liquid stuff which is caffeine based. We'll see how it goes, I'd love to write back here in a few months and say it worked so it would give other people some hope.
I've popped some pictures on here for you so you can see my hair loss, I didn't want to show my baldness but I feel that I need to show, for people to sort of understand ( I don't want pity or anything, I just want to show what happens).

Ok, onto the other thing that's more exciting Henna :) I decided to get this today because when my blonde roots come though it makes me look even balder, so from now on I'm going to be using Henna or organic dyes.
The picture below shows the henna colour on my hair, it makes it shiny :)
I also bought a L'oreal Double Extension Mascara, I'll use this tomorrow and tell you how it feel and how well it works :)

If anyone has experienced hair loss or knows someone that has, could you tell me what has worked as I'm willing to try anything, thanks :)

Oh and I'm thinking of using a clip in fringe/ bangs to cover up my stupid bald patch, I'll let you know how it goes, I'm not looking forward to using one but I don't want people staring at me either.

Sorry for this very boring, very unglamorous post, but I needed to vent .

I think you are an awesome girl- Tag Award

I was Tagged by the lovely Crystal thank you :)

Rules are: Ten facts about myself and tag ten blogs.

So here goes:
1. I am a vegetarian, I have been since I was 12. In a Welsh lesson we were shown how animals were slaughtered, and I've been veggie since.

2. I love Rabbits, lol. I have a house bunny called Basil, hes a proper pet and sits by the fire and sits on everyones laps too.
We also have Daisy who gave birth to 7 other little bunnies, and I know this is mad but I'm keeping them all, not in the house, but they're going to have a nice shed for winter.

3. I'm petrified of big spiders. I don't mind the small ones, but the big house spiders, ugh. I can't stand them.

4. I'm creative, love art and I'm creative with house things and I've even blinged my old mobile phones in swarovski crystals in the past.

5. I buy too many magazines, I get Glamour, Cosmo, Marie Clair, In style, Elle every month and I don't even read much of them, which is bad, lol.

6. I live in Wales which is a small country in the UK (not many people know Wales is a separate country to England). I speak Welsh, even though I'm quite rusty, lol. My dads fluent Welsh, but we were brought up speaking English, as my mum is English.

7. I hate fur and hunting.

8. Had my heart completely broken by my ex fiance last year, and haven't been able to find anyone I really like since. Plus it was hard to get over as we'd been together 5years, and he cheated on me while doing his Masters degree and told me via text that he had cheated. I never spoke to him again, didn't even reply to the text. Though I will always love him in a way, because of the times we had together and what we shared.

So now I want a man who looks like Patrick Dempsey or George Lamb, lol. Not gonna happen, but I'll dream. A mix of both will do. I love geeky, dark haired guys.
Where are you lol?.

9. I love Tea, can't get enough of it. I'm having one right now :P

10. I'm petrified of heights too, I'm a huge wimp.

Back to studying next week.

Next Friday I will be back studying for my art degree and I'm pretty damn nervous.

In March I had to suspend my studies until this September due to illness and stuff, so next Friday I will be starting from scratch again and meeting new people (and explaining to some from my old class where I have been).

So tonight I've been doing a quick sketch trying to get back into the art mind frame and trying to pull myself away from obsessing about makeup and beauty products (it's going to be hard).

So here's a sketch of a Giraffe, lol, its not that good but I thought I'd put it on here since I've spent an hour on it.

Tiny Haul.

I popped just to my Local small town today which is really like a small village ( I think the population is 2000 or something), anyway I popped into Boots in need of something.
So I looked around for a bit, and decided I'd get the Maybelline Color Sensation lippie in Ambre Rose. I have a thing for pink natural looking lippies lately (its a new fetish).

When I was in Boots playing around with this l/s I thought it reminded me of Nars' Lipgloss in Orgasm, but when I got home and compared it I realised Orgasm is much more peachy.

Swatches
(See how wrong I was?)lol.

I have to say this l/s does feel quite moisturising which is something I love a l/s to have, but it doesn't have much staying power. I do think this l/s is worth purchasing though, and it's quite cheap at approx £6.

The other thing I bought was Weleda's Wild Rose Deodorant, and I'll tell you it smells gorgeous. If you've ever tried Weleda's Wild Rose Face creams, you will know how gorgeous this stuff smells, because it smells exactly like the creams :)

I personally don't like using deodorants that contain aluminium, so that is why I bought this as the Lush deodorants don't really work for me and are quite a hassle to use (because I'm lazy).

Anyway that's my haul, thanks for looking :)

NOTD (or should that be Night?)

(yes I did some sloppy application tonight, lol).

It's really late here (almost 4am) and I can't sleep, so I just painted my nails with this NYC nail varnish.
I've had it for like a year or two, and it's always floating around my nail varnish box, so I just thought I'd give it a chance tonight and put some on, an it's really quite nice. Its a cute baby, powdery pink shade.
I'm not sure what the shade is but has the number I108A.

Ooh also, the Mac nail varnish I ordered on Saturday, finally arrived today. Mac have changed their delivery in the UK to DHL (and I don't find it very good, to be honest, was much quicker with the previous service).
And this is the polish I ordered.

Yes, its Cool Reserve, Woohoo.
I've been looking for this sort of dirty lilac for ages, since Macs Rose Romance collection (they had a very similar colour with that collection, can't remember what it was called?).
Anyway I'm going to pop this lovely colour on my nails on Sunday, because Sunday is home manicure day for me, and I shall then take some pics :)

Going NUTS!!!!

So with the healthy diet thing going strong, and I am now eating a lot of nuts too (I'm turning into a squirrel), I've been reading up a lot on Almonds as they're the ones I prefer to eat.
I've found out that these lovely nuts are little miracle workers (kinda).

So what's in these Almonds?
  • They're a great source of Vitamin E.
  • They have a good amount of Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc, Iron, Fiber and are a good source of the healthy monounsaturated fat.
  • They contain more Calcium than any other nut (so a good way for vegans to get their calcium).
  • An once of Almonds contain 12percent of your daily recommended intake of protein (which is good for me as I'm a veggie).
  • They're a great source of folic acid
  • They also contain the controversial anti-cancer nutrient Amygdalin, also known as B17.

Benefits:
  • Eating a handful of almonds a day can promote lower cholesterol.
  • Can help weight loss
  • Can reduce heart disease.
  • Build strong bones and teeth with the phosphorus in almonds.
  • Almonds help with controlling diabetes, as they have the power to lower blood sugar content.
  • Provide necessary antioxidants to help clean up the free radicals in the body.
  • They can increase brainpower, stabilize your mood and even relieve the aging process. They contain phenylalanine, which helps our cognitive processes and supports healthy neurological function. They also contain nutrientriboflavin and L-carnitine which are brain boosters and give good memory.

Then we come to the oil and the Indian traditional medicine Ayurveda who have been using Almond oil for the following benefits for hundreds of years.
  • Strengthens brain and nerves.
  • Relieves tension.
  • Strengthens brain power.
  • Good for heart.
  • Keeps body warm in the winter.
  • Nourishes skin.
  • Prenatal and postnatal care.
  • Helps build stronger bones.
  • Good for infants.
  • Improves body strength.
  • Constipation
  • Helps hair loss when massaged into the scalp, can also prevent hair graying.
So anyway after reading all this good stuff about almonds, I've been looking into Almond Face masks. I have a lot of blackheads on my nose, that just don't go away, they've even withstood the wrath of dermalogicas Microfoliant, so now I'm going to start this almond face mask twice a week, as I've heard that almonds will draw out impurities like blackheads.

So I mixed some ground almonds with honey and milk, into a nice paste and I applied it to my face for 20mins.
My nose does feel smoother, but time will only tell.
I shall keep you updated as to whether this mask works.

Anyway that was a much longer post than I expected to write. and it did take some time finding all the benefits for you and things.
I hope you've enjoyed reading this, and hasn't sent you off you to sleep :P

The I'm Very Boring with Make up FOTD!!

Ok, so today I got up late and didn't go out, but felt I needed to pop some slap on because if I didn't I'd feel depressed, lol.

So anyway I've been eating really healthy lately. Lots of nuts, fruit, beetroot and carrot juice and I drink a fair bit of camomile tea, plus I take silica, brewers yeast and a biotin supplement and my skin seems much nicer.

So today I just wore a tiny bit of studiofix powder which is something I just carry around in my bag for the sake of the mirror and some touch ups, but I found it quite nice on my skin today :)

I'm also using Gosh's Velvet Touch foundation Prime underneath that, and it really does make everything go on much smoother (I need to review it).

I'm using Macs moisturecover concealer (my usual thing these days) and I'm actually using Macs MSF in Redhead ( I forgot I had this, oops).
The eye makeup today was just very quickly put on and I just sort of popped it on quickly and I used the bobbi brown shimmering nudes palette again (surprise, surprise, lol), and some plush lash.

On the lips I used Macs Hello Kitty lipgloss in Mimmy.

The whole face took me under 10mins, because I felt too lazy :P

L'oreal Wrinkle DE-CREASE Collagen filler - Lips

Product: L'oreal Wrinkle DE-CREASE COLLAGEN FILLER Double Action - Lip + Lip Contour (long name).

Price: £13 Approx

Where to purchase: Boots or superdrug (in the UK).

Product Description: This product is a double ended product which has a Lip contour smoothing cream on one end, and a Lip plumping cream on the other.
L'oreal claims this product 'defines lip contour, re-plump lips. Lips look visibly younger'.

The Lip contour side contains collagen Biospheres which on the back of the packaging says 'Collagen biospheres absorb into the upper layers of the skin. On contact with water naturally present in skin, they inflate up to 9 times their volume'.
Sounds good.

Then step 2 is the Lip Plumping Cream which is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, which is meant to help re-plump lips for a natural looking effect.
L'oreal says ' Hyaluronic Acid works to lock in water naturally present in the skin to help hydrate and re-plump.

Application: This product comes in two steps.
The first step is to apply the Lip contour smoothing cream around the lip line (around where you'd put your lip liner).
You then massage it into the skin.
Next you apply step 2, the Lip Plumping cream, you apply this directly to your lips, and massage it in ( I like to tap excess cream into the skin).
The packaging says to apply it morning and night, and that it is an excellent base for makeup.

What I think: I knew when buying this I wasn't going to achieve Angelina Jolie sized lips (gave up on that years ago), but now that I'm getting older I felt that I needed abit more of a skincare routine for my lips, other than vaseline.
I can't say I have seen a massive difference in my lips, but I do notice that they look a little more plumped, more than when I was just using lip balm and vaseline.
I do like that I feel I'm giving my lips a treat and that's sort of why I like this product.

Would I buy again: I could live without this product, but I do really like it, so YES I would buy it again, even if for the feeling of being pampered, lol.

I'm new to reviewing, so I hope that little review made some sense. If you have any questions I will try to answer them for you the best I can :) x

Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes Palette (2008)

So here's the new Love of my life a Bobbi Brown Palette. I received it yesterday, and I'm absolutely in love with it.
It is from Bobbi Brown's 2008 collection, but I didn't get it back then, and always wished I had.
I saw it on ebay for around £34 so I bought it as I know I will always get a lot of use out of it.
I'm back studying for my art degree in just over a week, and I needed something I can put on quickly, and also something more compact, as I know I'll be traveling with college.

So as you can see there are seven colours, all have a slight shimmer, but its more of a lovely subtle shimmer that looks more soft and glowy, its not at all harsh and that's why I love these eyeshadows.
The colours go from warm to cool, but I think they're all pretty neutral (to me they are anyway).
The textures are very soft, and highly pigmented, you can tell that these shadows are very well made. I just love the quality of them (I even think I prefer them to mac e/s).
Each colour can be blended into eachother effortlessly, to create a natural daytime look, or use some of the darker ones for a nighttime look.
Nude Beach - Champagne shade which is iridescent.
Nude Mist - Is a shimmer wash in a pale taupe shade.
Naked - Peachy nude colour
Nude Glow - Blondie Brown colour (that's how I'd describe it), with shimmer.
Mica - Is a low volume taupe.
Nude Spice - Is light brown, which is brassy and warm.
Espresso - which is a ashy/ charcoal colour, its darkest which can be used as either a nice soft eyeliner, or a dark shadow.

Ahh after all this blogging I feel tired, so I'm off to read a magazine and chill before I fall alseep :)
Night all x

Monday and Tuesdays Fotd, using bobbi Brown Palette :D

My new Bobbi Brown palette arrived on Monday (Yippeee).
Yesterday I took pics of me wearing it,
but didn't blog, because I didn't think I'd blog well enough yesterday (dunno why).
Anyway the palette I got was last years Shimmering Nudes palette, which I bought off ebay.

I've been looking at it on various discount sites, and things for a while, but last week I decided to do a 'buy it now' on ebay and get it, and I'm so glad I did. It's a beautiful palette.

Fresh cut FOTD

I really look like poo today, and couldn't pose for the hell of me and I was having a crap hair day, but I just wanted to show the new Mac stuff I got yesterday.
Here's what I used:
I'm off to bed now, I'll have another go playing around with the fresh cut palette tomorrow :D

Mac and L'oreal Haul! Very teeny.

Yesterday my Mac delivery came, Woohoo. I ordered the Graphic Garden Palette in Fresh Cut, a really pretty pink palette.
The finishes are mostly frost and velux pearl, but they're very nice and I did wear them out today (I'll post a FOTD in a bit).
I really like the Poppy Noir colour, its probably my favourite, it is a nice chocolate sort of brown colour, that's how I see it anyway.
Then there's Part Peony which is the brightest pink in the palette, but I love it.
Sun-Shy is a lovely peachy orangey colour I think, its hard to describe, reminds me of Love-Bud thou
gh.
Fresh cut is also lovely and reminds me of cranberry, there's a lot of red in this colour.
Bloomcycle is very opal'ish to me, lovely pinky silver colour, that's how I'd describe it anyway.
Last but not least floral inc is very similar to Bloomcycle but has a darker pink pigment to it, but its more sheer. Argh can't explain.

I also ordered a Cremesheen lippy in Shy Girl, I've been looking for something more neutral. Even though the site says its a creamy neutral coral beige, I find it very peachy on myself, I love it :)

When I was walking to the tills at Tesco tonight I came across L'oreal Sublime Bronze face tan for £3, it was at half price so I grabbed it :)
On the packet it claims to give a radiant complexion (just what I've been needing lately), and it moisturises and illuminates.
This stuff contains Vitamin E, which we all know has anti-oxidant properties.
The light reflecting pigments in this stuff illuminates the skin (so that's what does it).
Yeah, I'm going to try this baby on in a bit, and I'll tell you what I think.
I've previously used Clarins Auto-Bronzante tan, and its been lovely but something doesn't quite click for me, and it always goes bright orange on my neck :S

I've also used St. Tropez which goes too dark for my skin tone, so I have laid off the fake tan for two weeks, but while in a shop the other day I was shocked how white I was , so that's why I'm going to start being a fake tan user and abuser again :P

NOTD and quick Natural pic.

Here I'm wearing Barry M's Nail Varnish in Raspberry 273. I really love this polish, I always get compliments when I wear this colour.
I always wear a base coat under these coloured nail varnishes as they stain my nails, so I usually wear a base coat by No7 or a Rimmel one, depending which one I find first in my nail varnish box.

Next thing I'm gonna show is me with hardly any makeup on (scary) lol, I actually went out like this today. My skin and everything seemed pretty good today, so I only wore a bit of concealer and and Macs Gel blush in just a pinch.
On the eyes I wore some Mac Bamboo e/s all over, Samoa Silk e/s on lid, haux in crease and a tiny bit of flip e/s in the inner corner of my eyes.
Also some plush lash mascara.
And to glam it up a bit some Mac Cremesheen in speak louder.
That sounds like a lot now I've written it out, but I had put it all on about 6hours before taking the pics, so that's probably why I looks like crap, lol.

Ooh and in the pics, you can see some of my new hair growth, I'm really happy about this. The silica and B vitamins I have been taking must have helped my hair a bit :D
Excuse the hair too, it wasn't styled, I just left it to dry naturally.

Anyway sorry about this FOTD being pretty crap, but I'm bored and felt like posting anyway :P
