Burberry Body

Finally I am blogging about my beloved Burberry Body perfume, I've been putting this off for months due to my lack of experience in writing perfume reviews. I mean I find it difficult to describe a perfume, especially since perfumes  smell different on everyone.
However I shall give this my best shot.

I have to admit I am a big Rosie Huntington Whiteley fan, she's gorgeous, sexy and seems down to earth. She doesn't even seem to try to be sexy, she just is. Everything about her screams SEXY! The Lips, The Hair and Those Legs.

When I found out this perfume was coming out many months ago now, I sincerely hoped I'd like it. Before it actually came out Burberry was giving away free samples so I sent off for one and waited eagerly for it to arrive. When it came I received a nice sized sample and a postcard with RHW's campaign picture on.
So for the perfume the notes include absinthe, peach, freesia, rose absolute, iris, sandalwood, cashmeran, vanilla, amber and musk.
For me this scent is warm, sensual and creamy.
At first I smell a slight chypre, but it disappears  quickly and settles into a sexy vanilla (not sweet sickly, gourmet vanilla), with sandalwood and amber.
It has great staying power and I seem to receive compliments on it several hours after spraying it on, saying that though it is not at all overpowering.
The bottle itself is a little tower of art, its sleek and feels expensive and looks great on the dressing table, however it is a little heavy to carry around.

I paid £45 for a 35ml bottle, which is quite steep I guess, but in my opinion definitely worth it, so worth it that I bought the box set :) Which contains a 85ml bottle of Eau De Parfum spray and an 85ml bottle of Body Milk in a spray container which is super handy.

Now I just wish I had a man to smell it on me, Ha!

Vivienne Westwood - Naughty Alice fragrance

Insomnia has struck me again so as I sat around feeling pretty bored, I thought I'd just blog about this Vivienne Westwood Fragrance.

I received 'Naughty Alice' from my parents for Christmas, mum had remembered me liking the fragrance when I was in Debenhams with her :) So she bought me the Gift set, which is great as you get more for your money :)
In the box I received a  50ml Eau De Parfum spray and a 150ml Velvet Body Veil.

The perfume on the Debenhams website is described as:

Naughty Alice is a sensual and audacious new fragrance inspired by Vivienne Westwood s playful and highly creative imaginary universe. Sexy, musky yet comforting, Naughty Alice enlivens the senses and is the perfect example of modern femininity. The fragrance transports you to a sensual dream world where everything is possible and your adventurous curiosity can be unleashed. This chic feminine and provocative new floriental perfume leaves you with a naughty twinkle in the eye.

At the very heart of Naughty Alice s perfume is a luminous floriental which dazzles the senses. The modern powdery elegance of black rose and carnal violet is sublimated by the warm sensuality of the ylang-ylang.

This description is pretty spot on.
I get a lot of the violet and powderyness in this fragrance, I just wish I could smell more of the musk and Ylang Ylang though (as Ylang Ylang is a favourite scent of mine).
On my skin this fragrance turns a sweet, floral, powdery scent.
I've never been one for floral scents, but this is pretty good.
For me this is a safe day wear scent.
If I was going on a date I wouldn't go for this one I'd go for something more like Dior Addict or Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir, but I reckon that a guy would always remember you by this scent (in a good sweet, carefree way).

Oh Yes and another thing the bottle is very cute, very classic and simple, looks gorgeous on the dressing table :)
Which is also cool about this perfume is you receive a little bracelet wrapped around the neck of the bottle, and it is a very funky little Westwood piece. Which I shall hang onto, in case it's worth something one day and ends up on The Antiques Road Show :p

Thanks for reading x

Very LUSH Haul :)

On Saturday my Lush order arrived :D
I wasn't expecting it to come so soon as I'd only ordered Thursday evening, but anyway I thought I'd share my goodies with you :)
I don't think I've ever made a Lush post, so it's about time I did as I've been purchasing from Lush on and off for years.
One of the reasons I love Lush is their no testing on animals policy, and that they always seem to come up with some crazy sounding, but gorgeous products :)

I've recently started to feel sick of winter. The short days, too much darkness, rain, snow and cold therefore I felt I needed a reminder of something summery and that's why I picked grass :D
I find this shower gel calming, but soft and fresh at the same time.
It reminds me of waking up in a tent somewhere in the wilderness, with the sun shining on the grass and the heat of the sun bringing out its smell.
I reckon many men will love this scent too.
Anyway it contains wheatgrass (which is great for the skin) and bergamot and neroil oils which are uplifting.

It's Raining Men was my other shower gel purchase.
It's the shower gel version of the 'Honey I Washed The Kids' soap.
It's a very sweet, sickly (good sickly if you like sweet) and creamy scent.
I think many people will have tried this (was my first ever purchase years ago in the soap form), and is a very honey/caramel scent.
The good thing with the shower gel is that you can also wash your hair in it, so you get to have great smelling hair.
And with honey being the main ingredient you know it's going to be kind to your hair :)

Keeping with the Honey theme I bought a Retro Honey Waffle soap.
The scent of this is a mixture of Sweet honey and floral as it contain Ylang-Ylang, so it can tend to be quite heady. I love it though.

Next up is the Karma solid perfume.
This was a sort of whim purchase.
I'm not sure why I bought this, but I'm very glad I did.
It's a lovely spicy, orange scent, with patchouli thrown in.
I've used it two days running now on my wrists and neck, it gives me a nice calming comforting feeling when I smell it now and then.
The only qualms I have is the orange colour, as it shows up on my skin.
Gorgeous product though.

Lush also Kindly threw in some samples (thanks Lush).

Thierry Mugler - Womanity

About 2 weeks ago I bought the Thierry Mugler Womanity gift set :)
I'd gone into Debenhams every other day to sniff it to make sure I really did like it, and every time I applied it, I loved it.
So treated myself with the Giftset :)
As this perfume is quite expensive I thought I'd be saving some money by buying the gift set which was the same price as the 50ml perfume (which was £49) and I received a 100ml body lotion and cute little purse :)

Anyway I'd heard about this perfume in a magazine and it was described as a savoury/ sweet perfume.
Savoury as it has the salty smell of Caviar (weird, I know, I told my mum it had caviar and she asked why I wanted to smell of fish, hehe) and the sweetness of figs. So I was very intrigued to try it.

On me this perfume does stay sweet with my chemistry but also smells slightly musky too and a bit woody, but the sweetness is stronger.
It has really excellent staying power, it lasts all day but it's not overpowering either.

The other lovely thing about this perfume is the Bottle (take a look below).

The bottle looks very gothic to me.
I read that it had been described as being a bit bondage like, because the lid is on a chain ;)
The only thing that bugs me a little bit is the weight of the bottle, it's pretty heavy to carry around in your handbag, other than that it's an excellent perfume and very sexy :)

Dior ADDICTed

How do everyone, I hope everyone is all well and happy.
I've recently been very addcited to Dior products.
It started out being addcited to Dior Addict perfume and it has gradually gone from there, and has grown quite quickly in the last few weeks.
I just thought I'd blog to show you all how beautiful these products are, and I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of all of them.

To Start off we have the DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Foundation.
This is a gorgeous foundation and has a '100% blend of mineral pigments and energising mineralized water' as Dior says. This has to be one of the freshest, most light and natural feeling foundations I have tried.
It gives good coverage withour caking or looking fake, it just makes you're skin look luminous. Since I've been wearing this foundation people have told me how well I look lately (and I can tell you it's not from my diet).
I was a BIG fan ot Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation and Bourjois' 10hr effect makeup, but since using this 'pah' I haven't even looked at them.

I also purchased DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Sculpting Powder Makeup as I was so impressed by the foundation.
During the summer months I like something light on my skin, so this looked perfect, and it is exactly that :)
Again this compact is filled with the energizing mineral water Dior speak of, and whatever is in this gorgeous, glam looking compact, it does the trick.
They say with this compact you can use the skin coloured powder to give a flawless look to skin.
Use the darker coloured powder for contouring and the light pink one (in Sable Roses' case) for illuminating eye contours and giving a halo of light, I like using it as a highlighter and I like using the darker middle powder as a bronzer.
However you can always just swirl the three colors together for a luminous tailor-made colour :)
That's what I like about this compact you can create several looks with it, depending on your mood.

As I like a natural look makeup on my eyes I bought Diors 5 color palette in 705 Beige Massai.
The colours are gorgeous and perfect for a natural look. The peachy colour is probably my favourite as it really suits my eye colour and makes them pop. I usually use the darkish, reddish brownie colour in the outer corner too.
The eyeshadows are very nicely pigmented and blend very well into eachother.
I was going to purchase Incognito, but I'm so glad I bought this one.

I know many people either love or hate this Dior Color Reviver Balm, but I'm going to say I absolutely love it :)
I know it's expensive, but it feels so nice and soft on and gives your lips a kissable pink colour that looks fresh.
I'm also a huge lover of Dior's Lip packaging, it makes it feel so glamourous, I feel like Dita VonTeese when I apply them, hehe.

This next product is very new to me, I've only had it a few days so I'm not going to say too much about it, as I want to see if it does actually improve lips in 15days. I will tell you though as a Lip Plumper this one does not give that bee stung feeling that many other brands give e.g Lip Injection and DuWops lip Venom. This one feels slighty cooling and has a lovely vanilla scent to it, yum.
What I did like in the description of this plumper is though that Dior says 'Lips that look tranformeed in just 15days: Lips feel rehydrate and restructured. Lip contour is redefined day after day', and that's what sold me. I will also say though so far this doesn't give you a horrible sticky, gluey residue that a lot of plumper gives, and my lips do feel moisturised.
Another thing is it lasts after a few cups of tea too :D

I've been eyeing these Dior Rouge De Serum Lippies since before Christmas, but the expensive price tag of £24 kept putting me off for some reason.
These lippies claim to have 10times more lip ingredients than other lipsticks and will redefine lips in 4weeks and regain their curves.
And well after using for about 2weeks I have to say they're nicer than any other lipstick I have tried. They feel moisturising, last pretty well for a lipstick and I just like that fact that I feel that when I wear these lipsticks I feel that I'm doing my lips some good.
That is one reason why I love French Brands, they always seem to know what's good skincare wise.
The other thing with these lip colours is that they come in quite neutral colours, I bought 64 Soft Pink Serum which is a light lip colour for me, but I think it looks good and looks natural :)

And to the product that started my whole Dior Craze, Dior Addict perfume.
I just absolutely love this warm, creamy, vanilla, sandlewood perfume. I'd say it's a definate romantic late dinner perfume, but I do like wearing it on cold rainy days, as it just smells so sexy :)

The other perfume is Dior's Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Toilette which is the softer, more floral version of the Parfum in my opinion. It isn't as sweet as the edp, but it's lovely for summer.

And there you have my small Dior Addiction :)

Thanks for reading XxX

Its my Birthday! Mac, Bobbi Brown and Perfume Goodies :)

So today I celebrate my 26th birthday (well I'm actually upset I'm getting old,lol and bdays arent the same when you're single :( ),
so I had a few goodies I want to show you all :)

First of all I bought some perfume with some money I had off some relatives, and because I fancy a change I bought the new YSL Parisienne perfume which
I have to say is gorgeous, it's a floral/fruity scent which I love. There are notes of Damask Rose, violet, peony, cranberry, patchouli, vetiver, musk and sandalwood, I also read there is some Vanilla and blackberry in there too.
I also bought my old time favourite and my signature scent as I always go back to this one, I've been wearing it since 2002,lol its the Givenchy Hot couture, another floral/fruity fragrance :)
This one has Raspberry nectar, vetiver, white mus
k and jasmine. Love it.

I also had a few items from Mac with some Bday moneyz :)
I bought the Mac Fibre Lash mascara, as after using the l'oreal double extension mascara for a while, I needed a change, I wanted something that would feel softer on the lashes and be more buildable.
The double extension mascara is very hard to remove, and com
es off like some sort of glue.

The next item is something I've fancied for ages which is the springsheen blush. It's a pretty peachy/pink blush with a golden glow, its really pretty :)
IDreamOfMac recommended this blush too :)

I also had my first ever paint pot :) in Bare study, which is a pretty champagne gold, and very light feeling when applied. This paint pot was reviewed by JUICYGIRL the other day, and her review made me take the plunge to buy it, and I'm pleased I did.

So yeah, had quite a bit from Bobbi Brown and I feel greedy for having this lot.
I'm not going to do any swatches tonight, and I haven't played around with the palette and blush much so I will do a separate post for this.
All I'll say about the palette is 'It's Gorgeous'.

And here is the OLE Birthday Girl today.
In the pic I'm wearing my new Bobbi Brown Foundation, Bobbi Brown creamy concealer,Mac Springsheen blush, Mac Fibre Lash Mascara, Bobbi Brown e/s from Palette (the 1st three colours in the palette), and the Bobbi Brown Color Gloss :)

I think I've remembered everything :)
Thanks for Looking X
