Topshop Nail Varnish - Geography Teacher

Hi all, I just thought I'd just make another mentally late post.
I thought I'd show you all one of my favourite nail varnishes of the moment.
Which as you can tell by the post title is Topshop's makeup brand nail varnish in Geography Teacher.
It's a lovely creamy caramel/camel colour, which is very on trend.
I'm actually quite surprised at how good Topshops nail varnish is, I was expecting some cheap nasty polish, but this is as good as any high end polish in my opinion.
With me it usually chips after 3-4days, which I think is good going.
They also have quite an impressive array of colours in their nail varnish collection, a few others have caught my eye and at £5 a go they're pretty cheap for the quality.

Festive Nail Varnish Haul

I've been feeling prematurely Christmassy lately, so yesterday I bought some Red and Gold Nail Varnishes that caught my eye :)
And here they are.

As soon as I saw Barry M's Red Glitter nail varnish I just had to have it. I'm never really into anything glittery, but this red polish was so pretty I had to have it.
I applied some on top of the 17 High Gloss polish in Risky Red that I bought, and it looks gorgeous :)

I only needed one coat of the Risky Red polish, which was quite surprising as I usually find that with cheaper nail varnish you have to apply a few coats for an even finish.
Anyway the same goes for the Barry M Red Glitter too. I imagined that I'd need about 2-3 coats for a good glittery finish, but I only needed ONE coat!!

I also fancied a Gold polish and so I bought 17's Sphinx, I haven't used any yet, but from what I can see it's a lovely shimmery gold.
When I get around to applying some I'll post an NOTD! :)

I love Glamour Magazine :D

This month I was really, really excited to go out and find my glamour magazine, well more excited than usual.
All because this month there was a FREE Nails INC nail varnish to be had :)
Not just any old colours either, a colour I'd fancied since last year, but I didn't want to spend the odd £10 on it.
And that colour is Jermyn Street, a grey beige colour.
In the bottle it does look grey beige, but on it looks like a slightly grey, purple colour, maybe like a dark lavender?!

Anyway this varnish goes on very smoothly, dries pretty quickly and has a nice slight shine to it.
I LOVE IT :)
Jermyn Street is everything I hoped it would be :)

Paul & Joe Tourjours (29) NOTD!

Hi, just a quick post to show the lovely Paul & Joe Tourjours Nail Polish :)
It's a lovely corally pink and creamy.
I really liked looking at my nails today and seeing this colour :)

What I love about Paul & Joe cosmetics is how they present their items. The bottle of the nail varnish is so glam :)
I also love the box too :)
I also have the Baby doll colour too, which I will post about as soon as I wear it :)

NOTD: Ciate Couture

I just thought I'd do a quick post to show Ciate's Couture Nail Polish, which is a nude cream with a little bit of pink. Perfect for lazy nail days :)

I received this for my Birthday on Tuesday from my parents :) Along with a new coat, a scarf and some other nail varnishes which I'll blog about soon :)

Sorryyyyyy.....

Hello everyone, I'm so sorry I haven't been blogging lately, I've not been buying much, and I've been keeping the makeup low key.
Anyway I just put some nail varnish on, and I though I'd post a quick picture :)

Sorry I didn't clean off the marks on the sides, I'm in a lazy mood.
Even though Bourjois So Laque is meant to last 7days, I find it only lasts 3-4 days before chipping, but I love the smoothness of the application, and the shine, so that makes up for the chipping :)
Plus loads of nail varnishes claim to last a long time and never do anyway.
Anyway the colour is Dangereusement Rouge 29, and it's a lovely black, gothic red :)
I've been into my nude polishes lately, so this nice dark colour makes a change.
Anyway sorry for the lack of posting, and I hope to resume to business as usual soon :)

P.s I hope everyone is well? I need to catch up :) x

Getting Opi...

So I've been getting Groovy with some Opi nail polishes lately, and I just thought I'd do a quick post to show the colours :)

First one is Rosy Future, which is a lovely rosy sheer pink, that has a sort of purple hue to it. Sorry the pics don't do it any justice, I think I'm in need of a new camera, plus the lighting in my room is rubbish, so could be that.
I believe this polish to be from the 'Soft Shades" collection.

Sorry about the next pic, I don't want to show my toes, but this combo is so pretty that I had to show it.

I popped two coats of Parlez-Vous Opi?, which is a lovely, beautiful, gorgeous colour described as a smokey violet.
I'd say its a sort of smokey, grey'ish purple colour.
I just really love this colour, and I need to add it's from the 2008 "France" collection.
I popped the 2 coats on, and I then popped Rosy future on top, to bling it up a bit with some shimmer, and it turned out pretty well.

I'm actually happy to see my toes now, when they pop out of their socks.

I love getting Nude!

So recently I have noticed in magazines that the trends for Spring/Summer 2010 is NUDE!!
I really love this trend, everything is toned down, clothes are floaty, lacey and chiffony!
Then the makeup is totally natural.
Such as from Valentino.
(see pic below)

This is all good for me as I like a more subtle makeup look, as when and if I apply too much I look like I'm in drag or something.

So the other week I ordered Paul&Joe's Moisturizing Foundation Primer in Dragee 01, which is for skin tones with pink in them.
There's also Miel 02 for yellow toned skins and Creme 03 for all skin tones.

(Paul&Joe Moisturizing Primer in Drage 01)

I fancied a nice primer which could be worn on its own without foundation, that would give my pale, winter skin some colour without being, heavy or obvious to pull off the whole natural thing.
Well this primer does just that.
It hides pores nicely, and minimizes the look of fine lines (which I'm now getting :( ) and it keeps my skin pretty luminous for hours.
I've worn it most days for 2 weeks now, and it is a really nice primer, I'm quite smitten with it.
It doesn't feel at all siliconey like other primers e.g Philosophy's Supernatural and GOSH primer. It's kept my skin feeling nice and moisturised through this harsh, cold weather we've had here in the UK recently, and it doesn't feel oily either.
If I need a bit more coverage for a night out or something I can apply Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation on top and it will go just perfectly :)

So here's a pic of me wearing the Primer, so you can see what it's like.

This is me from Wednesday

I used Paul&Joe's moisturizing Primer, YSL touch Eclat and Mac's Pink Swoon Blusher.

On the eyes I used Mac E/s in Chamomile and Modelette (Chamomile all over and Modelette just on the lid and lower lid).

Maybelline's Colossal Mascara on Lashes.

And just Lip Balm on the lips.

It takes under 10mins and it's an easy look for when you really have to rush out.

To add to my nude obsession I've been wearing nude nail polish, I've been using OPI's 'Tickle My France-y' from Opi's French collection.
It's quite an old collection, but I love it. I have a few nail polishes from this collection, it probably has to do with my love of all things French.

To further my current obsession I have also bought a nude Shrug :)

To keep myself optimistic after having all this Cold weather I thought I'd buy something ready for Spring/Summer and this Shrug from Topshop was perfect.
It's Nude, lacey (on the sleeves) and floaty.

It will be really nice to wear when the weather is hot, but not hot enough.

I can't wait to wear it!! Bring on Summer!!!

I've been quiet lately post, with lots of Red

Hey all :)
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, life has been weird and stuff, and I haven't been around the computer so much.

Anyway I went out today and bought my two favourite magazines Glamour and Elle.
I was really excited to get Glamour as they have free Nails Inc polishes with them this Month, Yipeee.

I'm in a red mood lately (probably because autumn is here and xmas is soon), so I bought the Glamour magazine with the Polish in the shade Victoria&Albert, which is a lovely festive red.
Also Elle magazine came with a Free £20 Gift card off Reiss Items :)

On Tuesday I was in Tesco and had a quick look at the nail polishes, and I saw this Maybelline polish in Cherry 505L. It's a lovely Cherry red, and it makes me feel really glam :)

So to make me feel even more glam, I decided today to pop into Boots and look for a Maybelline Stay Put Lipcolour.
So I had a look, and within a second or two I saw the colour that would match my nail varnish, and that colour was Maybellines superstay in Red Passion 510.
It's a lovely vibrant red, and the balm that comes on the other end of the lip colour is really moisturising and glossy.

I've always been skeptical of these type of products as I really hate dry lips, but I've noticed that some lipsticks dry my lips anyway and they always need reapplying too, so I thought I'd just get one of these and just keep using the balm without having to worry about smudges.

So far I'm happy with it :)
Thanks for reading :) x

Long time..No Blog. Saturday Shopping Haul :)

I finally got out to do a little shopping today, and it was all pretty random. I firstly went to Superdrug and bought more nail varnishes(I have too many) , and a carmex lip balm (I have too many lip balms too).
I bought Three Collection 2000 nail varnishes, the pink one is a sort of barbie pink and is called pink passion, I'm going to put this on my toes tomorrow.
I bought a clear o
ne as a base and this 2 in 1 nail varnish is strengthening and hardening and contains calcium.
The third one is a Blue'ish purple called BMX Bandit, and I shall be wearing that for Monday :)

I also bought the Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze, I really love this stuff, it smells gorgeous like a chocolatey, caramel smell (I think it does anyway).
This stuff does give a nice natural looking tan, but it does get a little patchy, that the only thing I don't like.
Since winter is almost upon us I don't like using St.Tropez and well lately I haven't u
sed fake tan at all, I'm trying to just be my pale self, but I feel that I need a little colour on my arms, so people don't mistake them for sticks of chalk in my drawing class.

So after superdrug I popped into Newlook to buy some t-shirts and long sleeved t-shirts to go underneath things, because I hate to be cold.

I then went to TKMaxx ( I love this shop) and I bought a lovely Shawl/Scarf thingy. I do love the scarves in accessories but I know if I buy one from there I'll either know, or see someone I know wearing the one I have, and I like to be different so I go to Tkmaxx for most things.

I also had to stock up on cleanser, and since Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment, I thought I'd take advantage of it :)
So I bought my favourite cleaning products which I swap between, every now and then.

And they are Avenes Extremely gentle cleanser, its a really good thermal spring water based cleanser that is great for sensitive or irritated skin. It also removes eyemake, and since I'm usually too lazy for a huge cleansing routine I love this.

I'm a proper french skincare lover, and a huge fan of Roc products and I have gone through so many of these Roc Hydra 3 in 1 cleansers and if I change I always come back. Like the Avene cleanser this one too removes eye makeup :)
Both cleansers remove dirt really well without drying the skin out.

I usually feel like I need a bit of freshening after cleansing, so for that I use Rocs skin toner. There's nothing much to say about this, but it feels really fresh and doesn't dry your skin out because its made for Dry skin :)

Ok, this next purchase is something I wasn't sure whether I should buy.
I was shopping in Tesco, and well I've been wanting a cheap Boyfriend style shirt to paint in at college.
All the shirts I have seen in Topshop, Miss Selfridge and River Island are way too nice to ruin, so I went and bought a mens shirt from Tesco for £10,lol.
I'm going to put my own little twist on it, to make it more stylish, but I think it might be Ok.
I shall do an outfit of the day featuring this cheap man shirt soon, lol.

Last but not least is this hair colour by Daniel Field, it arrived in the post for me this morning :)
I now have to be careful with the hair dyes I use, and after looking all over the internet for natural hair dyes this one kept popping up, so I gave it a go.
I messaged a lovely lady at Daniel Field and told her about my hair loss, and asked if this dye would be ok for my scalp and she said yes :)
I also asked which red to go for and she suggested the Burgundy Red, and I must say it's a lovely colour I used it tonight and I'm very happy with the results.
These hair colours are peroxide and ammonia free, which is great. They're also long lasting, and can cover greys.

This hair colour is completely different to any other I have used because all you have to do is add Water. Yes, WATER!!!
Umm actually I think I'll write more about this tomorrow, as it deserves a post of its own, and I'll also show the colour off too.

So yes, thats what I bought today :)
I did buy a new electric toothbrush, but I don't think you want to see that, lol, but if you're interested its a Braun Oral B professional care 8500 hehe.

Anyway I must get to bed, I have a stinking cold and chest infection.
Take care all :) x

NOTD (or should that be Night?)

(yes I did some sloppy application tonight, lol).

It's really late here (almost 4am) and I can't sleep, so I just painted my nails with this NYC nail varnish.
I've had it for like a year or two, and it's always floating around my nail varnish box, so I just thought I'd give it a chance tonight and put some on, an it's really quite nice. Its a cute baby, powdery pink shade.
I'm not sure what the shade is but has the number I108A.

Ooh also, the Mac nail varnish I ordered on Saturday, finally arrived today. Mac have changed their delivery in the UK to DHL (and I don't find it very good, to be honest, was much quicker with the previous service).
And this is the polish I ordered.

Yes, its Cool Reserve, Woohoo.
I've been looking for this sort of dirty lilac for ages, since Macs Rose Romance collection (they had a very similar colour with that collection, can't remember what it was called?).
Anyway I'm going to pop this lovely colour on my nails on Sunday, because Sunday is home manicure day for me, and I shall then take some pics :)

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

NOTD and quick Natural pic.

Here I'm wearing Barry M's Nail Varnish in Raspberry 273. I really love this polish, I always get compliments when I wear this colour.
I always wear a base coat under these coloured nail varnishes as they stain my nails, so I usually wear a base coat by No7 or a Rimmel one, depending which one I find first in my nail varnish box.

Next thing I'm gonna show is me with hardly any makeup on (scary) lol, I actually went out like this today. My skin and everything seemed pretty good today, so I only wore a bit of concealer and and Macs Gel blush in just a pinch.
On the eyes I wore some Mac Bamboo e/s all over, Samoa Silk e/s on lid, haux in crease and a tiny bit of flip e/s in the inner corner of my eyes.
Also some plush lash mascara.
And to glam it up a bit some Mac Cremesheen in speak louder.
That sounds like a lot now I've written it out, but I had put it all on about 6hours before taking the pics, so that's probably why I looks like crap, lol.

Ooh and in the pics, you can see some of my new hair growth, I'm really happy about this. The silica and B vitamins I have been taking must have helped my hair a bit :D
Excuse the hair too, it wasn't styled, I just left it to dry naturally.

Anyway sorry about this FOTD being pretty crap, but I'm bored and felt like posting anyway :P
